The Armoury building becomes the “The Pte. Blake Williamson Memorial Hall” tomorrow. The public dedication ceremony happens at 9:00am before the ceremony at the cenotaph. Williamson’s former Commanding Officer Major General Omer Lavoie will be in attendance. Councillor Donovan Arnaud has pushed for the renaming, even before he sat on council. Arnaud says he’s happy to this finally happen.
Williamson was killed in action in Afghanistan on October 14th of 2006.
