Clark brings fight to stop school closures to Queen’s Park

MPP Steve Clark is bringing the fight to stop the possible closure of schools like Oxford-on-Rideau to the provincial level. Clark has written to Education Minister Mitzie Hunter and brought up the issue in the Legislative Assembly. Clark says the process is flawed and points to a number of issues at the provincial level. Clark says when they went through the process 10 years ago, important criteria played a part in keeping some rural schools open.

Clark says there’s also an issue with funding.

The Oxford-on-Rideau SOS group has met with Clark and Clark has released a petition to sign that will be presented at Queen’s Park. You can find the petition at Jonssons Your Independent Grocer and at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
