A 20-year-old Ottawa man is facing mischief charges after calling in a false report to police. On July 11, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of theft of a motor vehicle on St Lawrence Street in Winchester in North Dundas Township. The investigation showed that the operator of the vehicle falsely reported the vehicle stolen. The 2003 Infinity was recovered by the police. Ali El Khatib of Ottawa is charged with:
– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
– Public Mischief
– Failure to report an accident and failure to remain at the scene.
He is to appear in Morrisburg Court in September.
