Hunters should be tick aware this season

The health unit is getting the word out about being tick aware this hunting season. Ticks can infect humans with lyme disease and the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit says you should wear long sleeves and pants, use insect repellent with deet, and shower when you get back from the outdoors. A tick can only transmit the disease if it’s attached for longer than 24 hours. If you find a tick that has been attached for a longer period of time, seek medical attention.
