A half percent levy could be added to the county portion of your municipal taxes to create funding for hospital capital projects. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Committee of the Whole discussed the idea earlier this month. Warden Dave Gordon says funding would have to be applied for by the hospital in question. Gordon says there’s some flexibility as to what kind of projects it could be used for.
The levy would raise about $180,000 across the county in 2017.
