A group of community stakeholders, social service providers, educators and policing professionals are working together to ensure North Grenville remains a safe and healthy place to live. The North Grenville Community Safety and Wellness council has identified risk factors in our community that can lead to crime. They are: lack of access to social and human services, isolation, and lack of affordable housing. At the July 11 workshop, groups were established to identify where a difference could be made. The next step is drafting the Safety & Wellness Council action plan. The goal is to have it completed by early Sept 2014 so the Plan can be put into action and incorporated into the North Grenville Municipal Strategic plan.
