Delays and detours expected once watermain installation work gets started on Van Buren and River Road

The new watermain installation work on Van Buren and River Road, south of Colonnade, will cause some delays and detours for motorists. On Tuesday night, Director of Public Works Karen Dunlop told council and the public that the work is expected to start sometime next week with closures starting the following week. There will be delays on River Road between Van Buren and County Road 43. There will also be through-traffic closures on Van Buren Street between River Road and the old railway crossing. Work is expected to be complete on the new watermain loop by early to mid-December. The new loop will provide better water service and fire protection to residents and businesses in that area.
