Human remains near Manotick identified as that of 19-year-old Shafiq Visram who went missing 22 years ago.

The Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit has identified human remains that were found in Manotick as that of a 19-year-old man that went missing in 1994. Police say the remains were discovered on a property being developed in the Maple Creek Estates area near Manotick back on May 10th. Ottawa Police Service says the remains are that of 19-year-old Shafiq Visram who went missing from his home on May 30th, 1994. Visram’s family has been contacted by police regarding the identification. Now, police are looking for any information that would help determine the events surrounding his disappearance 22 years ag.
