Health Unit getting word out about naloxone kits being available over the counter

The Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark District Health Unit are wanting to let opioid users know that naloxone kits are now available over the counter. Naloxone kits are the best way to treat an opioid overdose. These kits are available at pharmacies and can be picked up by opioid users, or family and friends. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care expanded access to Naloxone earlier in 2016, and estimate that a death occurs in Ontario every 13 hours from an opioid overdose.
