The Municipality of North Grenville is considering the sale of shares in Sun Life Financial to put the money into a contingency reserve. The shares were acquired pre-amalgamation by the Township of Oxford-on-Rideau. Sun Life clients were issued shares when the company became publicly traded. The 181 shares are valued at just over $7,000 right now. The money would be put in a reserve to be used for unanticipated legal and human resource costs.
