1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail looking for more member gardens

The 1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail along with Shakespeare Gardens are hoping more private garden owners will come forward to participate in the garden trail in our region. Five new gardens joined in 2016. The organization says that while it’s difficult to track the amount of visitors, they do bring a lot of economic benefit to the area by spending money in local businesses. The group presented at Monday night’s Prescott Committee of the Whole hoping to get more awareness about the organization so that more gardens join the garden trail in Leeds and Grenville.
