Retired Kemptville Fire Chief Tim Bond has died after battling cancer. Bond passed away on Monday night at the Ottawa General. He first became a volunteer firefighter in 1972. He was promoted to Captain in 1977 and then moved into the fire chief’s role in 1991. After 40 years Bond retired in 2012. North Grenville Mayor David Gordon says he was always a big part of North Grenville.
Gordon says he was more than just a firefighter.
North Grenville Fire Chief Paul Hutt says the entire fire family’s thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the Bond family. Arrangements to celebrate the life of Bond are still being finalized.
