North Grenville spared brunt of storm despite warnings

Last night’s storms could have been much worse. The North Grenville area, along with many communities in eastern Ontario, was under a tornado warning yesterday evening. North Grenville fire crews were standing by in case of emergency. They responded to a basement fire caused by lightning at a home on Bolton Road. Crews were able to get the fire under control. The Brockville and Kingston areas were reportedly hit harder. Tree branches were down and power was knocked out to 4,200 homes in Brockville.
