Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OPP says their Labour Day weekend blitz helped to reduce collisions on the 401 by 90 percent. Police say they charged over 100 distracted drivers, over 180 speeders and over 40 people not wearing their seatbelts. Last year 19 collisions occurred and this year there were only two incidents within the same time frame. Police say they will continue to run these events because they help to keep people safe.
