A 20-year-old man is facing numerous charges, including weapons charges, after fleeing from police in Kemptville. On Wednesday night, OPP officers were patrolling the Ferguson Forest Centre when a suspicious car was seen. Officers decided to check out the car but, when they activated the lights, the driver didn’t stop. Eventually the driver did stop the vehicle. He then ran into the bush with a firearm. Two other passengers stayed in the vehicle. On Thursday, the 20-year-old turned himself into police. The Ottawa man faces five charges including unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use, and fleeing a peace officer. He’ll appear in Kemptville Court on October 5th.
