MPP Steve Clark named Opposition House Leader

Wednesday was a busy day for Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark as Ontario MPPs returned to Queen’s Park for the first time since last month’s provincial election. In addition to being officially sworn in as MPP for Leeds-Grenville, Clark was also named Opposition House Leader by Interim Ontario PC Party Leader Jim Wilson.

Wilson, a former cabinet minister and MPP since September 1990, was elected to the interim leadership role by the PC Caucus earlier in the day. He will serve until the party elects a new leader at a later date. Clark said he is happy with the election of Peterborough MPP Jim Wilson as the Interim Ontario PC Party Leader, replacing Tim Hudak:

Clark says he looks forward to his new role, but no matter what duties he has at Queen’s Park, his primary responsibility is to the people of Leeds-Grenville.
