A 50 year old man from Russell is facing assault charges after an incident in North Dundas. At about 5pm on June 27th, SD&G OPP officers responded to a domestic at a property on Moffat Street in the Village of Morewood. Investigation showed a shouting match between a man and his ex-spouse resulted in the man assaulting the woman. The man was arrested and charged with assault and he appears in Cornwall court later in July.
Also in North Dundas, on Saturday, June 28th police responded to a report of harassment and threats at a property on County Road 43. Investigation revealed a man had made repeated unwanted contact with his ex-spouse and threatened her. The 28 year old man from Smiths Falls was arrested and charged with harassment, threats and failure to comply with a probation order. He was held in custody pending a bail appearance in Cornwall.
