Local dirt bike rider charged with fleeing police

North Grenville OPP have charged a local man with several offences related to an incident involving a dirt bike. Around 11:30pm on June 30th, police saw a person on a dirt bike parked behind the gas pumps at the Oxford Mills General Store. As the officer approached the person, the rider took off on his bike at high speed. The dirt bike was later located on its side in a ditch on Bolton Road. The driver was arrested at the scene. 24-year-old Joshua John Michael Powell of North Grenville is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fleeing from a police officer, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving while under suspension and failing to stop at a stop sign.
