Merrickville Public School ECO-Club recognized with gold standing

The ECO-Club at Merrickville Public School achieved gold standing with ECO-Schools Ontario just before the end of the school year. This year the club was made up of 15 students and two staff. It spearheaded many initiatives and shed light on the recycling program within the school. The club also brought awareness to energy conservation and waste management. The idea behind ECO-Schools certification is to empower youth to be environmental citizens among other goals.
