A symbol of St. Lawrence River life was launched at the Gananoque waterfront Sunday, signaling what is hoped will be a new era of boat building at Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School. The GISS St. Lawrence Skiff was launched on her maiden row along the waterfront at the Heritage Village site. The skiff was built over the past several months in the woodworking shop at GISS under the guidance of veteran boat builder Michael Corrigan and assistant Rebecca Keyes and provided an amazing hands-on learning experience for students at the high school.
