Kemptville to retain TR Leger school despite UCDSB budget cuts

The Kemptville TR Leger site has escaped the cuts that were brought on by the recent streamlined budget at the Upper Canada District School Board. Our local school of adult, alternative and continuing education will continue to operate out of the Kemptville College campus.

TR Leger schools in Hawkesbury and Almonte will be affected, with students being redirected to other locations nearby. The Brockville Foundations campus and Transitions and Foundations programs, currently located at 100 Strowger Boulevard, will re-locate to the TR Leger campus at St. Lawrence College this September.

Directors will attempt to relocate resources to the new locations where possible, to minimize the impact of the closures on staff.

The UCDSB Trustees approved $5.5 million in budget cuts for the upcoming year, including reductions in teaching and educational assistant hours as well as arts programming.
