North Grenville CAO Brian Carre has suggested that Director of Planning and Development Forbes Symon be seconded to the Kemptville College Renewal file until the end of the year. Carre says although no taxpayer money is being put toward the acquisition of the college property, the project falls under the municipal category of economic development and some staff time will be devoted to it.
While Symon is focused on the college file, the CAO will handle administration of the other projects coming into the Economic Development department. Senior Planner Phil Gerrard will be acting Director of Planning & Development until Forbes Symon returns.
Council will vote on the matter next week.
