The group “Refugees for Brockville” is hosting a special afternoon of music and information on Sunday, April 24th at Centennial Road Church. Tickets are being sold at the two Brockville Scotiabank locations, and sales will be matched up to $5,000. Group member David Dargie says it’s going to be a great opportunity for people to learn more about the work involved in bringing Syrian refugees to the area.
Mr. Molloy also played a key role in bringing 60,000 Indochinese refugees to Canada in 1980. Learn more from his experiences and knowledge about how Brockville can become a leader in welcoming refugees to Eastern Ontario.
All funds raised on Sunday, April 24th will be used to support the placement of the first 10 refugee families in Brockville. For more details, head to www.refugeesforbrockville.com.
