Community Connections Centre hosts Indigenous Awareness Days

For the next four days, The Grenville Centre for Social Studies and Community Connections Centre is hosting Indigenous Peoples Awareness Days – presentations and workshops designed to educate visitors on the history and culture of our First Nations and Inuit peoples. Activities run from 1 to 3pm and again from 7 to 9pm today through Friday and 10am to 9pm on Saturday. Come out for supper Wednesday night and enjoy Indian Tacos. David Shanahan presents some First Nations history Thursday night and enjoy a slideshow of camping on Baffin Island Friday. Saturday night, the Centre will screen the award-winning film “Atarnajuaat – The Fast Runner” at 7pm. All presentations happen at Nik’s Place, 113 Prescott Street.
