The North Grenville Planning Department has paired up with Emergency and Protective Services to remap some of our municipal streets and roads. First on the list is Alma Street. When a planned subdivision is registered, the East and West segments of Alma will be joined up and new street numbers added in the 200 block. In the Burritts Rapids area, town planners realize they have a big job ahead of them, with River Road, South River Road and Rideau River Road sending motorists to the wrong location for decades. Step one is renaming and numbering the section along the river at Burritts Rapids to an unbroken County Road 23. The group will take a closer look and map out a plan for more renaming and renumbering in the coming year. The priority is making it easier for Emergency Services to find addresses while causing as little disruption as possible to the lives of residents being renamed and numbered.
