North Augusta Rd. has re-opened after a dramatic situation this morning. Just after 7:00am, a loaded trailer separated from its tractor unit while coming off the 401 at North Augusta Rd. As a result, both the north bound and south bound lanes of North Augusta Rd at Waverly Dr. were blocked for a time.
Brockville Police attended the scene and city crews placed barricades in the area while the tractor and trailer were removed. There were no injuries in the incident and the 53yr old driver from Oshawa was charged with several Highway Traffic Act offences including having a commercial motor vehicle with an insecure load, driving a CMV with a major defect and failing to accurately complete a daily inspection report . The major defect related to the trailer connection.
