Yesterday at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, the UCDSB & Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario hosted a workshop entitled Welcoming Refugee Children and Their Families into Our Schools. Superintendent Tim Mills said the focus was to ensure that teachers and staff could make students feel welcome and get them acclimatized to their new environment so they could focus on academics. The workshop was led by Kalpana Makan who is a staff member with the ETFO provincial office.
