The Merrickville Chamber of Commerce has met to elect new officers and begin making plans for the coming year.
Karl Feige from Alloy Foundry is president, Mark Scullino from Christmas in Merrickville is vice president, Justin Rice of Justin Rice Insurance is treasurer and the secretary is Michael Whittaker from the Merrickville and District Historical Society. Mr. Feige says the Chamber has much to do. He says getting the new Web page online is a priority because communication with potential visitors and tourist and among the members is essential promoting and expanding businesses in Merrickville.
Mike Zaversenuke is the lead on membership. Michael Rowland has responsibility for advertising. Chris Chinkiwsky has taken on electronic communications. David Ellis fulfills the role of advisor to the executive based on his decades of membership in the chamber. The Chamber has outlined communications as a key focus this year to bring potential visitors to businesses in Merrickville.
