On Monday June 2nd, St Michael CHS grade 7 and 8 students participated in the LGESAA championship for Track and Field. The team of 52 traveled to Brockville to compete in a series of events which led them to an overall second place finish. The athletes pushed through the sweltering heat, competing against 17 schools and setting both personal and record breaking finishes. Regional champions included Kylie King, Rachel Goldberg, Ryan Johnston, Connor Manderson and Steven Vichos.
Rachel Goldberg, had an outstanding meet, winning all 3 of her events as well as setting a new long jump record of 4.68 meters in the senior girl’s long jump. This broke a 35 year old record and led her to claim the top senior girl of the meet.
