Kids’ Christmas Downtown to feature horse drawn wagon rides, scavenger hunt

Kemptville is about to be invaded by elves. The Kids’ Christmas Downtown event is happening Saturday. It runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm. The event, organized by the BIA, is free and open to the whole community.

Organizer Stephanie Ewing says kids will be asked to spot the Elf on the Shelf at participating businesses. The kids will have to write down what the elf is doing on their passport. Once the passport is filled out, kids can submit them at To Be Continued or Exit Realty for a chance to win a gift basket.

There will also be crafts and activities at each stop. Horse drawn wagon rides will run from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Ewing says the wagon will run along Sanders, Clothier and Prescott Streets. She says there will be three stops: B&H Grocer, Rotary Park and near Exit Realty.

Volunteer firefighters will be manning burn barrels and making s’mores. Santa Claus will be at Exit Realty during the event.
