Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics passes through our area

On June 1, the Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics began its journey through the Ottawa Valley. Officers with the OPP, Provincial Corrections, Ottawa Police Service, Canada Border Services Agency and other law enforcement partners, along with local Special Olympians will be running and walking through communities raising funds for, and awareness of, Special Olympics.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the largest source of revenue for Special Olympics Ontario, which supports more than 19,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities.

They started on June 1 in Ottawa. On June 2 they were in Pembroke, they are expected in Renfrew June 3 and in our area June 4. Runners will have buckets handy for collecting donations.
