The public is invited to a preview of the design for the new County Road 43 this Thursday evening. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville hired AECOM Canada Ltd. to do a Class Environmental Assessment examining alternative designs for upgrades to County Road 43 between Somerville Road and Highway 416. The approved recommendation includes a widening of the road and the construction of a second bridge next to the existing bridge, as well as bike lanes and sidewalks. Perhaps the most dramatic change is the replacement of all traffic signals with roundabouts. The project will be done over at least two phases.
