Grade seven and eight students will have an opportunity to learn about skilled trades work from college professors over the coming weeks.
St Lawrence College is hosting a series of “Mobile Training Labs” at local Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) high schools, to introduce intermediate kids to working as electricians and carpenters.
The full-day workshops will give participants “micro-credentials” that they’ll be able to put on their resume when applying for work down the line.
The workshops are running from now until June 13th, at schools in Athens, Elgin, Kemptville, Almonte and Brockville.
