Staff members from the Municipality of North Grenville say they want to see residents reclaim the title of “Canada’s Most Active Community.”
An event is being organized to get residents to prepare for ParticpACTION’s next “Most Active Community” contest.
The annual competition sees participants logging their physical activity throughout the month of June, with funding prizes going towards communities that log the most exercise time.
In 2021, North Grenville was named the most active community in all of Canada. Last year, North Grenville was the most active community in Ontario and came in second place nationally.
A kick-off event is being held later this week, with members of council and North Grenville’s Health, Wellness and Fitness Advisory Group set to attend.
It’s happening at the North Grenville District High School outdoor track on Thursday, May 18th at 5:00 PM.
