WDMH Foundation issues thank-you to donors for helping fund $180,000+ in new equipment

The Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) has made an investment into its online health information platform, and staff members say it couldn’t have happened without public support.

The WDMH has put out a statement thanking its contributors and donors for helping to fund some new equipment to help support the “Epic” digital platform that launched late last year. The platform allows both patients and workers to quickly access and reference medical records.

According to Communications Lead Jane Adams, the hospital bought several new workstations on wheels, document scanners and handheld devices to help with things like bedside care. The price, she says, came out to more than $181,000.

WDMH Chief Executive Officer Cholly Boland and Foundation Managing Director Kristen Casselman are thanking everyone who helped make the equipment purchases possible. “Bringing Epic to WDMH was a tremendous team effort that included our donors,” Casselman says. “We needed them, and they were there.”

You can learn more about the Epic platform, which is also used at several other Ottawa-area hospitals, on the WDMH website.
