Kemptville fundraising gala brings in $8,700+ for Ukrainian refugees

Svitlana Kominko is thanking all the Kemptville residents and businesses that supported her nonprofit organization’s recent fundraiser.

Maple Hope Foundation, an organization co-founded by Kominko that supports people affected by the war in Ukraine, raised $8,720 at a gala in Kemptville called “United for Ukraine” on November 17th.

Kominko says the money is being put towards an initiative called “Project Liza,” which will support children affected by the war.

“100% of raised funds will be used towards internally displaced children, children who are separated from their parents, children whose parents are unemployed, children who lost their parents and homes, and those who face atrocities of war on a daily basis and need food, warm clothing, school supplies, and medication,” she says.

You can find more information about Maple Hope Foundation, and its Project Liza initiative, on the organization’s website.
