MPP-elect Steve Clark talks reaction to winning election in our riding

Steve Clark says much of his success in the 2022 provincial election came from his campaign team and the people working with him at his Brockville constituency office.

“I’ve got a mix of people who worked on this campaign for the first time, and I’ve got a number of people who have been with me my entire political career,” he says, “and I want to thank everybody doing that, for the work that they’ve done, and what they’ve been able to deliver for me.”

According to Elections Ontario, Clark received more than 57 percent of the votes in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes in last week’s election, as the incumbent Progressive Conservative candidate.

He’s represented our riding since 2010, and in the past, also served three terms as Brockville’s Mayor.

Clark says he’s thankful for the support he’s received from people in our area over the past few weeks.

“It’s a real honour to serve in the legislature,” he says. “You’re one of 124 Ontarians who get that opportunity. I cherish it, I value it, and I’m going to continue to deliver for my constituents every day over the next four years.”

He says going forward, his main priority is rebuilding our economy, and keeping Ontario open.
