Community Living campaign brings in 1,000+ pounds of food for Kemptville Salvation Army

Community Living North Grenville’s Executive Director, Sandra McNamara, will have a pie thrown in her face next week to celebrate the success of a recent food drive.

The organization, which helps support local people with intellectual disabilities, collected donations of non-perishable food throughout the entire month of May as part of its Community Living Month fundraising campaign.

According to the sign outside its Kemptville office, more than 1,000 pounds of food were collected by the end of the food drive earlier this week.

Over 150 pounds were donated on the last day of the campaign, after it was announced that McNamara would join OPP officers and North Grenville firefighters for the pie throwing if the organization collected at least 1,000 pounds of food.

The pie throwing is happening on June 6th, at 2:00 PM.
