Mayor Nancy Peckford, members of council, and representatives from North Grenville Pride met outside the Municipal Centre to commemorate the first day of Pride Month.
“It is incredibly important that we signal to all members of our community that they have a right to belong,” Mayor Peckford says, “no matter their gender or sexual identity.”
“North Grenville, as we know, is understood and celebrated for being a very, very caring and compassionate community, and a compassionate place, but it is, I think, vital that that sense of caring and compassion is extended to every member of our community.”
