14 month old recovering after pit bull bit her face

A 14-month-old is recovering after a pit bull bit her on the face. Christine LeClair of Ottawa took the dog in to her home after it bit the child of its original owner on the mouth. LeClair, who owns other large breed dogs, had hoped to rehabilitate the canine. Sunday morning the dog suddenly bit her toddler and locked its jaws, and the child’s father had to pry the dog’s jaws open with his hands. The child’s nose has been torn from her face and deep lacerations exposed bone. It’s illegal to own a pitbull in Ontario but it’s not clear to what extend the City of Ottawa enforces this ruling.
