Provincial funds on the way for Connect Youth Inc.

A local provider of support for at-risk youths is getting a boost in provincial funding.

Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Island and Rideau Lakes announced $310,000 in funding for Connect Youth in Prescott, which runs four short-term apartments in Leeds Grenville for those ages 16-25. The money will also go to supporting the group’s case management division.

The announcement was made alongside a $500,000 funding pledge for Brockville-based Cooperative Care Centre and $177,000 for the Leeds Grenville Community and Social Division. The funding announced on Friday is to help combat homelessness and home insecurity as part of Ontario’s Homeless Prevention Program.
