Just over a month after it opened, the outdoor rink is being shut down for the season due to poor weather.
The rink, which opened on January 21st, has been closed since February 16th, because of inconsistent temperatures in our region.
“We had several fantastic weeks skating the creek,” the municipality says, “but the warm and cold temperatures have made it too rough and the ice is thinning.”
The municipality is asking people to stay away from the creek, because the ice is thin enough that it may not be safe to stand on. “We look forward to using the creek for boating and fishing this summer,” it says, “and will see you again for skating next winter.”
