With the North Grenville Municipal Centre arena still closed for skating, you’ll be able to get on the ice again outdoors in Kemptville soon. The Kemptville Community Skateway is nearly ready to open.
North Grenville Parks and Recreation staff have been building up the ice layer over the Kemptville Creek to ensure it’s safe to skate on, and the skating area this year is five times larger than in 2021.
The Community Skateway opens at 8:00 in the morning on January 21st. Mayor Nancy Peckford says there will be a skate lending program in place at the skateway, so you’ll be able to visit even if you don’t own a pair of skates yourself.
