Police Looking To Identify Suspicious Person Seen At North Grenville Skatepark

Police are asking for help from the public after reports of a man acting suspiciously at the North Grenville skatepark.

The Grenville County OPP got some information about a suspicious person on Wednesday, who was speaking to youth at the park.

Constable Dave Holmes says the complainant believed the person took some photos of the youth using his cell phone, before leaving the area.

“We haven’t been able to confirm whether or not any photos had been taken,” Holmes said. “And we didn’t receive any reports or complaints of a suspicious person, just this one.”

Before leaving, police say the man had stated he was 27-years-old, and from the Ottawa area.

The person is of Asian descent, with tanned skin, and he was driving a white sedan.

Holmes says they can’t confirm whether the man was suspected of any wrongdoing.

He says there’s no concern for public safety at this time.

“With the limited details, we don’t know exactly what the intentions were, so we’re just looking to identify the individual just to ease everybody’s mind,” Holmes said.

If you have any information on the incident, you’re asked to call the Grenville County OPP, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
