“No More Lockdowns” Movement Holds Rally in Downtown Kemptville

A rally at a local restaurant only resulted in about 200 attendees.

Organized by No More Lockdowns Canada the event advertised as a “mask burning party” did not materialize. MPP Randy Hillier was in attendance and gave a speech at the onset about how the lockdowns imposed by the Ford government are illegal and against the Charter of Rights and Freedom.  The Grenville County OPP was on hand amid chants of “freedom” and “fake news” and anti-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau rants.

The mob, some from outside of the region from Toronto, Kingston and Quebec was comprised of families, including children and pregnant women gathering to protest the latest provincially enforced lockdown.  By 8:00 p.m. most of the crowd had dispersed claiming victory.

The OPP says they received “numerous” calls and went to the scene with what they call “a primary focus on maintaining public safety.”  The local public health unit, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and North Grenville By-Law Services also attended.  It is not clear if any charges were laid but the OPP says the investigation continues.
