North Grenville Seeking Public Input on Updated Noise Bylaw

The Municipality of North Grenville is asking for resident feedback on some amendments to their noise bylaw.

The new bylaws would target noise creased by modified mufflers, and prohibit what they call “unreasonable and persistent” noise. They are taking aim at noise that is likely to disturb the peace, but doesn’t cover things like common household or workplace sounds. The bylaw will also stop motor vehicles from idling for 5 minutes or more in certain areas, except for things like vehicle maintenance or winter car warmups.

An updated bylaw can be found on the township website. North Grenville will be accepting comments until April 19th. Input can be submitted to [email protected]
