Kemptville Stress Relief Centre Opens New Downtown Location

The Kemptville Stress Relief Centre has a new home in downtown Kemptville.

On Saturday, staff from the centre, members of North Grenville Council, and the Old Town Kemptville BIA were all downtown to celebrate a ribbon cutting ceremony for the relocated facility.

For CEO Meagan Cumming, relocating was about being able to provide accessible resources to those who need it.

“Part of why I wanted to move back and have this clinic is because I saw the gap in services when I was here,” Cummings said. “So, I know how important it is to have these services in the community, particularly as we grow in population, and having this service offered means we can provide support that people need.”

KSRC has a full team of qualified, compassionate mental health professionals that has been able to satisfy that demand through the creation of a welcoming, safe and inclusive space for those who are struggling.

Cumming says the ongoing negative impact to mental health caused by the pandemic, has led to a dramatic increase in demand for mental health services.

“It’s been so nice to get back to business, the BIA has been so welcoming, and we’re excited to see how we can increase our involvement in the community now that we are downtown,” she said.

The new centre is located at 28 Clothier Street East, and adds to a growing trend of businesses choosing the downtown area as their home.

Services include relief from stress, anxiety, trauma therapy and couples counselling.
