Keep Eye on Water During Heavy Rains, Says Rideau Valley Conservation Authority

With the heavy rains over the next few days, the Rideau Valley Conservation authority is not expecting any significant flooding.

However, they are saying that water levels and flows will increase. They say people who live close to smaller creeks and streams to keep an eye on water levels. They ask those people to make sure their sump pump is clear and in good working condition and ensure they have access to a backup generator. They also warn that ice will be unstable and extreme caution should be exercised when near the ice.

The watershed statement will be in effect until January 4th
