Portion of Catch the Ace fundraiser going towards North Grenville COVID-19 Assessment Centre

A portion of proceeds from the Catch the Ace fundraiser will be going to the North Grenville COVID-19 Assessment Centre.

The fundraiser is done through the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation. The foundation says the centre is open because of the Kemptville District Hospital, Rideau Crossing Family Health Centre, Lanark and Grenville Health Unit, Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service, and the Municipality of North Grenville.

Hospital staff and others from the community partnership have been volunteering their time. The foundation says it is a grassroots initiative and funding for medical and diagnostic supplies are being provided by the foundation.

All other 2020 Foundation fundraising events were cancelled except for Catch the Ace. Tickets are available online for the raffle. Purchasing tickets helps support healthcare workers in their ongoing fight against COVID-19, according to the foundation.

Joanne Mavis, Executive Director of the foundation says this is a priority for the residents of North Grenville and so it is a priority for them.
