Majority of Upper Canada District School Board Students Confirm Enrollment

80% of students are going to be returning for the 2020-2021 school year, according to the UCDSB’s online enrollment survey.
The survey found that 80% of families will option the regular day-school options. This means that these students will have full day classes, Monday to Friday. Of the 85% of families that responded, the remaining fifth of students are confirmed for remote learning. The School Board says that this is a significant shift from a preliminary survey, which pegged six percent of students said they would take part in remote learning.
The UCDSB says that there will be enhanced health and hygiene practices in place that follow local public health guidelines. Director of Education Stephen Sliwa says that it isn’t an easy decision for parents, and that there are many factors to consider. He says that the board wants what is best for students, and only families can decide that.
